The remains of two hundred and fifteen children found in Kamloops. Many more may yet to be found. Our hearts are heavy as we mourn each and every precious life that was taken. #EveryChildMatters. Our thoughts are with the Tk'emlúps te Secwépemc First Nation and other First Nations communities whose lives were, and continue to be, affected by the residential school system. Our deepest condolences to the families whose children were taken from them. Knowing that there is much work ahead for all of us to do, we remain steadfast in our commitment to Truth and Reconciliation, and Resurgence. The truths of our past must guide the future we build together.

Janet Weber

Chief Financial Officer

 

Janet Weber is the Chief Financial Officer at SOURCES. Janet grew up on Vancouver Island in the seaside village of Winter Harbour and holds a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Victoria. Upon completing her degree, Janet traveled the world, living and working in a number of places including Australia, Europe, Alberta, and Quebec. She later settled in Vancouver to pursue a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation, which she obtained in 1999. Janet’s formal career in accounting began at KPMG which was followed by a move into the non-profit sector as an Accountant with the Arthritis Society. She moved back into the corporate world as a Financial Analyst at Pacific Newspaper Group progressing to the position of Financial Controller. Throughout her career path Janet’s goal was always to come back to the non-profit sector as she strongly felt it to be a good cultural fit for her. It has always been important for Janet to work in and contribute to the community in which she lives, and she found that fit with Sources in 2013.

When Janet isn’t making sure all of SOURCES finances are in check she is typically running! Janet takes part in numerous marathons and triathlons throughout the year including the famous Boston Marathon.
