Child Minding Support Volunteer
The Early Childhood Development Services is offering a “Mental Wellness Parenting Program” to parents who may be feeling overwhelmed with daily parenting. Trained facilitators will provide direction to parents in communication, grounding exercises, nutrition, exercise, sleep and rest to parents.
The Child Minding Support Volunteer will provide a secure and child-friendly space for children aged 0 – 12 to be cared for in a stable, fun and inclusive environment while their parents attend the Mental Wellness Parenting Program.
To be successful in this position, volunteers will have:
- Experience working with children.
- A calm and friendly demeanor.
- The ability to engage children in play.
- The ability to diffuse conflict kindly and in an age appropriate manner.
- Must be over the age of 18.
- Early childhood education is an asset.
- First Aid training is an asset.
This position will operate every Thursday from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, October 9th to December 7th, 2017 only. The program will be offered dependant on registration
