POSITION: Housing Loss Prevention Worker – Permanent Full-Time
CURRENT LOCATION: HPS Housing Loss Prevention – Surrey (Newton)
CURRENT HOURS: 35 hr/wk (may be required to work occasional evening or weekend)
POSITION SUMMARY: This position provides comprehensive housing loss prevention services to marginalized individuals and families at imminent risk of housing loss to maintain their tenancy, access income supports, benefits and/or obtain housing to support housing stability.  Services delivered both in office and on multiple partner sites (Surrey & Langley).  Service includes providing support, information, referral, completion of forms and applications, written communications on behalf of the client, negotiation and mediation, written appeals and representation at tribunals and hearings, also provides assistance with housing search and accessing resources.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum 2 years post-secondary education or equivalent experience in related field
• Understanding of poverty and housing related issues, government processes and procedures related to income assistance, disability and/or tenancy an asset
• Knowledge of local community resources
• Must have valid BC driver’s license and own vehicle to use for work purposes
• Criminal Record check required

START DATE: October 30, 2017
SALARY: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
BENEFITS: As per benefits package
