COMPETITION NO. 17-138 POSITION: Life Skills Instructor – Permanent Part-Time CURRENT LOCATION: Life Skills Resource Centre – Surrey (Newton) CURRENT HOURS: 30 hrs/wk (Mon-Sat) POSITION SUMMARY: This position involves supporting adults who live and work with intellectual and/or physical challenges.   The position will involve be working in a team setting in a centre-based program located in Newton. The program supports approximately over 50 individuals who receive service through the Adult Discovery Program, the Afternoon Skill Builders Program at this location, as well as being able to work off-site in the community with clients in the Community Living Program.   The primary focus of this position will be to work with a team of staff to organize and provide daily activities that would include accessing the community and aid in achieving personal growth and self-worth. This will include some 1-1 support as well as working in group operating from the Life Skills Centre. Staff is required to assist with personal care and working with participants who have some moderate behavioural challenges.  

COMPETITION NO.   17- 136 POSITION: Residential Care Worker – Permanent Part-Time This position requires CUPE Union membership CURRENT LOCATION: Primrose Centre – Delta (Ladner) CURRENT HOURS: 22 hours per week (Fri 1500-2100, Sat 0700-1500, Sun 1500-2300) POSITION SUMMARY: This position provides care and advocacy for five adults with developmental disabilities in a day program and residential setting.   Those duties include assisting with personal care and hygiene, meal preparation, housekeeping, laundry, transportation, medical appointments, as well as behavioural and emotional support.

  COMPETITION NO.   17- 135 POSITION: Residential Care Worker – Permanent Full-Time This position requires CUPE Union membership CURRENT LOCATION: Primrose Centre – Delta (Ladner) CURRENT HOURS: 40 hours per week (Sun-Thu 1500-2300) POSITION SUMMARY: This position provides care and advocacy for five adults with developmental disabilities in a day program and residential setting.   Those duties include assisting with personal care and hygiene, meal preparation, housekeeping, laundry, transportation, medical appointments, as well as behavioural and emotional support.

COMPETITION NO. 17-134 POSITION: Housing Placement Worker – Permanent Full-Time CURRENT LOCATION: Housing Loss Prevention – Surrey (Newton) CURRENT HOURS: 35 hr/wk (9: 00 a. m. – 4: 30 p. m. ) POSITION SUMMARY: The Housing Placement Worker works with clients in obtaining housing and additional supports for housing stabilization.   Provides support with potential challenges with landlords.   Provides written communications on behalf of the client, accompaniment to meetings, suite viewings and other stabilization advancement appointments to ensure follow-through happens.   Assists with access to other income supports and addressing other housing related barriers, as appropriate.   Promotes relationships with program, partners, community, other human serving organizations and general public.   Attends to administrative and reporting requirements.

COMPETITION NO. 17-133 POSITION: Family Support Worker – Permanent Full-Time CURRENT LOCATION: Family Preservation North – Prince George CURRENT HOURS: 35 hr/wk POSITION SUMMARY: Working within a strengths based model, the Family Support Worker will provide various services, including protective family intervention and reunification, Family Development Response, Visitation and Access services to families referred by MCFD.   In consultation with the Program Manager, the Family Worker will provide outreach services including, but not limited to: parental behavioural and interactive interventions, life skills, assistance in accessing community supports and some transportation of clients.

COMPETITION NO. 17-132 POSITION: Child & Youth Worker/Behaviour Consultant – Permanent Full Time CURRENT LOCATION:  Fort St John, BC CURRENT HOURS:  35 hours per week (very flexible hours) POSITION SUMMARY:  This position is a blend of two positions, providing behaviour modification and skills training.   As the Child & Youth Worker, you will be providing intervention for youth with mental health challenges and/or developmental disabilities.   You will support the goals as directed by the referring Mental Health Clinician.   Activities may include; socialization, symptom reduction and skill development.   The worker will also be responsible for liaising with Mental Health therapist, report writing, and case management.   As the Behaviour Consultant, duties include conducting functional assessment, Positive Behaviour Support program development, monitor support strategies for families of children with Developmental Disabilities.   The position is clinically supervised by a BCBA which can be used towards certification hours.   This position involves travel, with reimbursement and requires a home office (equipment provided).
