POSITION: Housing Placement Worker – Permanent Full-Time
CURRENT LOCATION: Housing Loss Prevention – Surrey (Newton)
CURRENT HOURS: 35 hr/wk (9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.)
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Housing Placement Worker works with clients in obtaining housing and additional supports for housing stabilization.  Provides support with potential challenges with landlords.  Provides written communications on behalf of the client, accompaniment to meetings, suite viewings and other stabilization advancement appointments to ensure follow-through happens.  Assists with access to other income supports and addressing other housing related barriers, as appropriate.  Promotes relationships with program, partners, community, other human serving organizations and general public.  Attends to administrative and reporting requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum 2 years post-secondary education or equivalent experience in related field
• An awareness and understanding of poverty and homelessness related issues
• Knowledge of local community resources
• Experience and understanding providing housing placement services preferred
• Criminal Record check required

START DATE: December 11, 2017
SALARY: $20.00-$23.00 per hour
BENEFITS: As per benefits package
