POSITION: Residential Care Worker – Permanent Part-Time
CURRENT LOCATION: Stayte House – White Rock/South Surrey
CURRENT HOURS: 26 hours per week (Wed 3-11, Thu 3-8, Fri 2-8, Sat 9am-4pm)
POSITION SUMMARY: To provide care and advocacy for adults with developmental disabilities in a residential setting.  Assist with personal care and hygiene, meal prep, housekeeping, laundry, transportation, medical appointments as well as behavioural and emotional support.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum 3 months experience working with people with developmental disabilities
• Grade 12 Diploma and 2 year’s post-secondary education, preferably in behaviour sciences, social work, child and youth care,  or community social service or equivalent
• Must possess strong communication skills  and be able to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, with management, caregivers, parents, and others
• Be a fun, positive and stimulating role model
• Use sound judgement
• Able to foster social skills and friendships
• All employment requirements (which includes , criminal record check, unrestricted class 5 B.C. driver’s license, proof of SIN card, and immunization record must be valid and current or your application will not be considered – Sources provides in-house training for first aid/CPR/NCI and if hired attendance is mandatory
• Ability to use a word processor (Word for Windows) to produce objective written data and reports
• Familiar with adult rights and responsibilities
• Able to be creative, seek out and participate in a wide variety of recreation and leisure activities, including swimming, bowling, golfing, dance, and arts and crafts
• Able to follow a simple budget, adhere to spending limits, report expenses and return receipts

START DATE: December 15, 2017
SALARY: $16.33 per hour
