COMPETITION NO. 17-145 POSITION: Intake Worker – Casual Status CURRENT LOCATION: Newton Resource Centre – Surrey CURRENT HOURS: as needed POSITION SUMMARY: The Intake Worker provides services, including initial client contact and intake by phone or in person; provides support, information and referral on community resources; provides basic information on income support programs including BC Employment and Assistance benefits, tenancy, disability programs, both provincial and federal, as well as federal support programs. This position will also entail assisting clients to access resources and manage service levels. COMPETITION NO. 17-146 POSITION: Housing Placement Worker – Permanent Full-Time CURRENT LOCATION: Housing Loss Prevention – Surrey (Newton) CURRENT HOURS: 35 hr/wk (9: 00 a. m. – 4: 30 p. m. ) POSITION SUMMARY: The Housing Placement Worker works with clients in obtaining housing and additional supports for housing stabilization. Provides support with potential challenges with landlords. Provides written communications on behalf of the client, accompaniment to meetings, suite viewings and other stabilization advancement appointments to ensure follow-through happens. Assists with access to other income supports and addressing other housing related barriers, as appropriate. COMPETITION NO. 17-144 POSITION: Life Skills Instructor – Permanent Part-Time CURRENT LOCATION: Life Skills Resource Centre – Surrey (Newton) CURRENT HOURS: 30 hrs/wk (Mon-Sat) POSITION SUMMARY: This position involves supporting adults who live and work with intellectual and/or physical challenges. The position will involve be working in a team setting in a centre-based program located in Newton. The program supports approximately over 50 individuals who receive service through the Adult Discovery Program, the Afternoon Skill Builders Program at this location, as well as being able to work off-site in the community with clients in the Community Living Program. The primary focus of this position will be to work with a team of staff to organize and provide daily activities that would include accessing the community and aid in achieving personal growth and self-worth. This will include some 1-1 support as well as working in group operating from the Life Skills Centre. Staff is required to assist with personal care and working with participants who have some moderate behavioural challenges.

Program – Prince George CURRENT HOURS: As needed POSITION SUMMARY: The Behaviour Interventionist provides direct one-to-one teaching to individuals diagnosed with autism and other developmental disorders. The Behaviour Interventionist will work as part of an interdisciplinary team, and under the direct mentorship and supervision of a Behavioural Consultant. Duties include using teaching methods to target specific program goals as directed by a Behavioural Consultant and implementing teaching programs and other interventions as outlined on the student’s behavioural plan of intervention, collecting data, monitoring, recording and reviewing client progress with consultant and other team members, attending and participating in regularly scheduled team meetings, responding appropriately to oral and written feedback from the Behavioural Consultant by making necessary changes in order to follow through with suggestions made and effectively communicating with family and other team members.
