COMPETITION NO.   18-28 POSITION: Job Developer/Coordinator – Permanent Full-Time CURRENT LOCATION: Empowered for Employment – Newton (Surrey) CURRENT HOURS: 35 hours per week POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to the Director, the Job Developer/Coordinator oversees the Empowered for Employment Program and assists Survivors of Violence and Multi-Barriered Women to obtain practicum and/or paid work in the specified industry.   The Job Develop/Coordinator is responsible for day-to-day coordination, marketing and placement services of the program. The Job Develop/Coordinator is also responsible for developing relationships with the community service providers and employers for the purpose of increasing referrals to the program and securing sustainable employment for job seeking clients.

COMPETITION NO.   18-27 POSITION: Specialized Facilitator – Permanent Full-Time CURRENT LOCATION: Empowered for Employment – Newton (Surrey) CURRENT HOURS: 35 hours per week POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to the Coordinator, Specialized Facilitator is responsible for intake, development and delivery of workshops on life skills and job search. The program is to assist Women Survivors of Violence or Multi-barriered women to gain skills and find employment in the specified industry.   The Specialized Facilitator will work closely with all clients, ensure their eligibility and provide information about the program. As Intake, registering clients for the program, entering data into the databases, disbursing financial supports form part of your duties. As Facilitator, you are responsible for providing workshops on life skills, job search skills and computer use in a classroom/group setting.

They are active, verbal, mobile, and highly involved in the community.   Positive support and engagement through conversation, games, and out-trips, special events, sports, to name a few, are routine.

FEBRUARY 20, 2018 | INTERNAL/EXTERNAL JOB POSTING COMPETITION NO.  18-25 POSITION: Child & Youth Care Worker – Casual Status CURRENT LOCATION:  Family Connections Centre – Surrey CURRENT HOURS:  On-Call, variable hours. All applicants must be available to do one overnight shift per week. POSITION SUMMARY: FCC is a unique, part time residential program that assists families to stay together or reunify. The Child and Youth Care Worker at the Family Connections Center positively engages youth in life skills, recreation and day to day life.   Shifts are Monday through to Friday afternoon.   The majority of shifts are 230 pm to 1030pm and the occasional overnight 10 pm to 8 am.

FEBRUARY 20, 2018 | INTERNAL/EXTERNAL JOB POSTING COMPETITION NO.  18-24 POSITION: Youth Care Worker – Full Time CURRENT LOCATION:  Family Connections Centre – Surrey CURRENT HOURS: 40 hours per week (shift work required Monday to Friday) POSITION SUMMARY: FCC is a unique, part time residential program that assists families to stay together or reunify.   The dynamic Youth Care Worker position develops therapeutic relationships with youth to foster change in the youth and their families. Duties include one-on-one and group interventions, case planning, and being involved in supporting positive change in family dynamics.   The residential component incorporates therapeutic group and recreational programming, behavioural management, day to day care of the youth, as well as liaising with social workers, schools, and various community resources.   Report writing, case management and maintenance of files and other administrative duties as required.

FEBRUARY 19, 2018 | INTERNAL/EXTERNAL JOB POSTING COMPETITION NO. 18-23 POSITION: Family Support Worker – Temporary Full-Time CURRENT LOCATION:  Family Preservation – North CURRENT HOURS: 35 hr/wk POSITION SUMMARY: Working within a strengths based model, the Family Support Worker will provide various services, including protective family intervention and reunification, Family Development Response, Visitation and Access services to families referred by MCFD.   In consultation with the Program Manager, the Family Worker will provide outreach services including, but not limited to: parental behavioural and interactive interventions, life skills, assistance in accessing community supports and some transportation of clients.   These services are required in the Prince George area.
