POSITION: Family Support Worker – Temporary Full-Time

CURRENT LOCATION: Family Preservation – North

CURRENT HOURS: 35 hr/wk

POSITION SUMMARY:

Working within a strengths based model, the Family Support Worker will provide various services, including protective family intervention and reunification, Family Development Response, Visitation and Access services to families referred by MCFD.  In consultation with the Program Manager, the Family Worker will provide outreach services including, but not limited to: parental behavioural and interactive interventions, life skills, assistance in accessing community supports and some transportation of clients.  These services are required in the Prince George area.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Child and Youth Care, or another related field
  • One years’ experience providing therapeutic intervention to families, or other related experience
  • Able to provide intake and assessment
  • Knowledge of MCFD protocol regarding Child Protection and Risk Assessment is an asset
  • Familiar and comfortable working with Microsoft Office products
  • Must possess a valid BC driver’s license and a reliable vehicle
  • Criminal record check required

START DATE: As soon as possible

END DATE:  January 2019 (maternity leave coverage)

SALARY: $20.00-$22.40 per hour
