POSITION: Child & Youth Care Worker – Casual Status

CURRENT LOCATION: Family Connections Centre – Surrey

CURRENT HOURS:  On-Call, variable hours.

All applicants must be available to do one overnight shift per week.

POSITION SUMMARY:

FCC is a unique, part time residential program that assists families to stay together or reunify. The Child and Youth Care Worker at the Family Connections Center positively engages youth in life skills, recreation and day to day life.  Shifts are Monday through to Friday afternoon.  The majority of shifts are 230 pm to 1030pm and the occasional overnight 10 pm to 8 am.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience working with youth (13-17 years of age)
  • Prefer some post-secondary education in psychology and related
  • Knowledge of residential programs, routines, and purpose
  • Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbal and written
  • Must have the ability to use  computer programs
  • Must possess the following:  valid BC drivers’ license, current first aid, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention certificate (training provided), Food Safe certificate, TB Screen, Immunization form
  • Must be able to participate in recreational activities
  • Excellent references
  • Criminal Record Check is required

SALARY: $18.50 – $19.46 per hour
