Position: Residential CARE Worker – permanent Part-time
Location: Sources Archway House – Cloverdale/Surrey
Hours: 16 hours/week (Saturday and Sunday 11am to 7pm)
We are looking for a Residential Community Support Worker to join our Sources Archway House –Community Living Program team! This individual should be a strong positive model by being energetic, creative, and resourceful while also possessing strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.

Sources is a community-based non-profit organization that has been providing help, encouragement, and hope for individuals and families in White Rock, Surrey, Delta, Langley, and Prince George for 40 years. We serve 40,000 individuals yearly and that is all owing to our dedicated team. We provide services such as food banks, counselling, employment services, and community living programs. At Sources we value respect and collaboration as we are all striving to promote the same mission—social wellness for our community.
Sources Community Living
Sources Community Living provides all-encompassing care for residents who have been referred to us by Community Living British Columbia. We are a COA accredited non-profit agency and are licensed by Fraser Health Community care. Archway is one of Sources many community living programs that provide a home to four adults with developmental disabilities in a residential and community settings. Theses adults require assistance in their day to day lives. Our mission is to enable the pursuit of the best quality of life possible for residents. We do this by fostering independence, well-being and social participation and our Residential Community Support Workers play a key part in this development.
Responsibilities:
- · Assisting residents in all aspects of daily living (i.e. personal care, appointments, etc.)
- · Following individual client service plans and participate in the on-going of such plans
- · Following client budget/petty cash; adhere to spending limits and record expenses
- · Developing a supportive rapport with clients and actively seeking out new opportunities for clients that relate directly to their goals and objectives
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 6 month experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities
- A degree or diploma in an area related to supporting people with developmental disabilities (Social Services, Human Services or equivalent)
- Ability to act decisively in a crisis situation
- Experience working with adults with developmental disabilities / or clients with possible physical aggression, including effective responses to such behaviour
- Familiar with adult rights and responsibilities
- Ability to communicate (both orally and written) with clients, parents, staff, management, and other professionals
- Ability to use a word Processor (Word for Windows), to record data and produce reports
- Ability to create and implement visual supports and schedules
- Comfortable attending and participating in adult planning meetings
- Ability to implement behavior support strategies
- Successful criminal record check
- Unrestricted Class 4 B.C Driver’s license
- Proof of SIN
- · Immunization record must be valid and current
- · First Aid/CPR/NCI training is provided by Sources upon hiring
- · Participate fully in swimming, walking and a wide variety of recreation and leisure activities
Start date: June 1, 2018
Salary: $17.74
Benefits : As per collective agreement
