Position: Café Team Leader – Casual

Location: Sources Connection Cafe (Front of South Surrey Rec Center)

Hours: 20-26 hrs / week, includes days, weekends and holidays

We are looking for a Team Leader to join our Sources Connection Café team! Among the many qualities we look for in applicants are a positive attitude, confidence, flexibility, a team player, a passion for food – and of course a love of coffee.

Sources is a community-based non-profit organization that has been providing help, encouragement, and hope for individuals and families in White Rock, Surrey, Delta, Langley, and Prince George for 40 years. We serve 40,000 individuals yearly and that is all owing to our dedicated team. We provide services such as food banks, counselling, employment services, and community living programs. At Sources we value respect and collaboration as we are all striving to promote the same mission—social wellness for our community.

Our mission is to maximize the café’s profits and to direct that revenue to unfunded local social programs, offered through Sources.

Summary:

In this growth opportunity, we are seeking our next Team Leader.  Someone who is willing to learn, under the direction of the immediate supervisor, how to take the responsibility for the café.  This will include but not be limited to an active and hands on approach to:

• ·         hiring, training, scheduling and retention
• ·         menu planning/development, ordering, inventory/quality/ cost controls
• ·         customer, partner and staff satisfaction
• ·         maintenance and service of site and equipment
• ·         the continued ethical growth of this business

Qualifications:

A foodie at heart who tunes in frequently to the food network and always wanted to run their own restaurant and/or food truck.  He/she has their own transportation and is excited to be a part of the ebb and flow of this customer driven opportunity including holidays, weekdays and weekends with the occasional evening requirement.  Has a good working knowledge of business procedures including inventory, order procedures, scheduling, and daily operations.
