Virtual Coldest Night of the Year 2021

Brrr… it’s cold out there!

To ensure that community members who are hungry, homeless and hurting receive the help they need to stay safe and warm this winter and beyond, SOURCES is hosting our 8th annual Coldest Night of the Year (CNOY) to raise awareness and money for our social wellness programs.

This year’s CNOY will be a VIRTUAL-ONLY EVENT taking place Friday, February 19 to Sunday, February 21, 2021. Anytime during that three-day period, we encourage you to complete your 2km/5km WALK in your own community, following the recommendations of our Provincial Health Officer and local health authorities.

We acknowledge that this event and our work takes place on the traditional and unceded territory of the Coast Salish People, specifically the Kwantlen, Katzie and Semiahmoo First Nations.

SOURCES is listed as the “White Rock” location but we encourage supporters from any location to register, fundraise and walk virtually with us! We will have a virtual opening ceremony on Friday as well as a virtual closing ceremony on Sunday. More information will be posted soon.

There is no $25 registration fee this year to participate. Sign up now!

NEW THIS YEAR!

We have created a public Facebook Group to keep the hundreds of SOURCES CNOY SUPPORTERS connected. We encourage all team captains, walkers and event sponsors to join as this will be a key hub for sharing information, tips and photos.

The pandemic is not yet over, nor is the need in our community for support. That is why, for CNOY 2021, our goal is to fundraise $100,000 for SOURCES’ Comfort and Care During COVID-19 response fund.

These funds will be applied strategically to our programs and services that are in most critical need: SOURCES Food Banks in White Rock/South Surrey and Langley, Housing and Advocacy Services (including Homelessness Prevention Services and Rent Bank), Volunteer Services and Counselling/Mental Health Services.

Registration is open!
