Position: Temporary, Full Time Residential Care Worker – 2 positions

Location: Georgia House (Ladner)

Hours:

Position 1 – 40 hours per week

  • Saturday/Sunday 8:00-4:00
  • Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday 4:00-12:00

Position 2 – 39 hours per week

  • Saturday 3:00-11:00
  • Sunday 9:00-4:00
  • Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday 4:00-12:00

Sources is a community-based non-profit organization that has been providing help, encouragement, and hope for individuals and families in White Rock, Surrey, Delta, Langley, and Prince George for 40 years. We serve 40,000 individuals yearly and that is all owing to our dedicated team. We provide services such as food banks, counselling, employment services, and community living programs. We are looking for a Residential Community Support Worker to join our Georgia House Team! This individual must be Compassionate, Forward Thinking and can provide Person Centered Care. Additionally, this person must be energetic, creative, and resourceful while also possessing strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting residents in all aspects of daily living (i.e. personal care, appointments, etc)
  • Following individual client service plans and participate in the on-going of such plans
  • Following client budget; adhere to spending limits and record expenses
  • Developing a supportive rapport with clients and actively seeking out new opportunities for clients that relate directly to their goals and objectives

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 6 months experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities
  • A degree or diploma in an area related to supporting people with developmental disabilities (Social Services, Human Services or equivalent)
  • Ability to act decisively in a crisis situation
  • Ability to communicate (both orally and written) with clients, parents, staff, management, and other professionals
  • Ability to use Word Processor (Word for Windows) to record data and produce reports
  • Successful criminal record check
  • Unrestricted Class 5 B.C Driver’s license
  • Proof of SIN
  •  Immunization record must be valid and current
  • First Aid/CPR/NCI training is provided by Sources upon hiring

Start Date: ASAP

End Date: Upon return of staff from leave

Salary:  Grid 10 $21.63-$25.19
