Program Assistant – Permanent, Full Time


Position: PROGRAM Assistant

Location: Surrey-Panorama

Hours: 35 hours per week

We are looking for an Program Assistant to join our SOURCES Empowered for Employment team! This individual must be able to work with multi-barriered clients and have excellent administration and organization skills; and be flexible to perform a variety of duties.


SOURCES is a community-based non-profit organization that has been providing support, encouragement, and hope for individuals and families in White Rock, Surrey, Delta, Langley, Prince George, and Parksville for 40 years. SOURCES Empowered for Employment Services

Empowered for Employment Services provide comprehensive supports to multi-barriered clients, survivors of violence and/or abuse, mature adults who are 55+, persons with disabilities, and people at risk of or experiencing homelessness who want to make positive changes in their lives and prepare for a successful transition to employment.


    • Receive and direct incoming calls, responding to all inquiries, providing information to Empowered for Employment (EFE) services.
    • Receive and greet visitors and clients.
    • Manage client access to EFE services including initial screening, intake assessment, determine needs, registration for programs.
    • Maintain tracking and statical data, enter client data into CIMS (Contract Information Management System) and Sharevision as required.
    • Assist Facilitator with preparation of workshop materials as necessary.
    • Troubleshoot equipment as required for day-to-day operation (maintain toner level, handle paper jams, top up paper levels etc.)
    • Maintain an organized and tidy office and resource area appropriate to client service needs, ensure a safe and welcoming environment.
    • Create a positive atmosphere to inspire clients and boost their morale, while respecting individual dignity and confidentiality of all individuals accessing EFE services.
    • Ensure day-to-day operations of employment programs and thrive to meet service delivery standards.


  • Preference that the candidate possess a diploma or certificate from a business college in Office Administration, Administrative Assistant, or related training in Career Development.
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in employment services/career development field.
  • Experience with and ability to work with diverse client populations including individuals with multiple barriers and persons with disabilities:  physical, mental health and developmental disabilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional customer service skills combined with professional demeanor and ability to build rapport with a variety of clients, and diffuse difficult situation in a tactful manner, appropriately resolve client concerns and issues.
  • Proficient with business technology, administrative ability with advanced computer/technical skills and experience, including MS Office, social media, internet navigation and research.
  • Familiarity with community-based employment services and alternate community support and crisis care resources.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and flexible with the ability to multi-task, take initiative, work independently under pressure, work effectively in a team environment and exercise good judgment in a continually changing and demanding work environment.
  • Clean Criminal Record Check.
  • Completion of Privacy and Information Sharing Training.
