Position: Group Counsellor – Contractor

Location:  Surrey/White Rock, BC

Hours: 4 hours per week for 36 weeks (excellent opportunity for extension).

We are looking for a skilled group counsellor to join our Sources Trauma Counselling team! This individual must be energetic, enthusiastic and have excellent group counselling skills.

Description of position

Reporting to the Trauma Counselling Manager, the Group Counselling Facilitator is a contractor with Sources Community Resources.

General Responsibilities:

Develop and revise group counselling training materials.
Co-facilitate a 12-week group counselling program to prevent and end violence and create. learning opportunities for cis and trans men, including GLBTQ2S and non-binary people.
Asses the group’s effectiveness by participating in ongoing evaluation and research.
Engage with community members to promote and develop the group.
Program Specific Responsibilities:

Participate in regular meetings with team members
Engage in knowledge translation to engage community members
Participate in regular meetings to refine and evaluate the group process
Qualifications:

Registered Clinical Counsellor/Registered Social Worker with three to five years of experience in trauma counselling.
Effectively utilize Office suite including Excel, Word, Outlook, OWL and Sharevision
Effectively communicate professionally, verbally and written in English.
Modality-specific training/skills in DBT, EMDR, Expressive Arts, EFT, Polyvagal Theory, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, and be skilled in Non-Violent Communication
Criminal Records check through the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General Criminal Records Review Program
Start Date: January 19, 2023

Salary: Commensurate with experience
