The new Peace Point Overdose Prevention Site (OPS) is offering FREE naloxone training for anyone who has someone in their life who is at risk of overdose.

Fraser Health has opened a new overdose prevention site (OPS) in White Rock, named Peace Point, that will help support people in South Surrey and White Rock who use substances and connect them with the health services they need. Sources Community Resources Society, which has delivered Substance Use Services in the community for decades, will oversee the OPS. Overdose prevention sites aim to prevent drug overdoses and overdose deaths, and reduce the adverse health, social and economic consequences associated with substance use.

Fraser Health has reported multiple overdoses on October 16 and 17, 2020 in Surrey, with reports of cocaine use likely contaminated with a powerful opioid like fentanyl. Visit Fraser Health’ s overdose prevention and response page for more information.

To honour those impacted by the ongoing overdose public health crisis, the White Rock/South Surrey Community Action Team –  Tides of Change – organized a series of events in the community.

On June 5, come join a conversation for local solutions to the overdose crisis. Your perspective will inform the South Surrey/White Rock Overdose Community Action Team’s substance use and overdose strategies to end the crisis.  This group provides focused, multi-sectoral action-oriented strategies that are inclusive of all partners and tailored to community needs. *
