British Columbia Newcomer Services Program (BCNSP)
Our Services
The BCNSP supports Work Permit Holders, Study Permit Holders, Naturalized Citizens, and certain individuals without a valid work or study permit, including Refugee Claimants, Canada-Ukraine Authorization for Emergency Travel (CUAET) visa holders, and BC Provincial Nominees under the BCPNP Entrepreneur Immigration program.
Our services are designed to assist those actively seeking Settlement, Immigration, and Support Services, helping them enhance their ability to enter and thrive in BC’s labour market, while establishing strong connections and learning about community.
Settlement Services
- Information, Orientation, and Referrals: Comprehensive guidance to help newcomers navigate their new environment.
- Community Connections: Building networks within the community to foster a sense of belonging.
- Understanding Your Rights in Canada: Essential information on your legal rights and protections.
- Assistance in Accessing Government and Community Resources: Support in finding and utilizing available resources
- English Language Training
– In-person Conversation Circles language classes for beginners and intermediate learners
– Referrals to Formal English Classes
Immigration Services
- Guided Immigration Process Navigation: Support for navigating the complexities of immigration.
- Immigration Information Sessions: Informative sessions to keep newcomers updated on immigration policies and procedures.
Employment & Labour Market
- Employment Counselling: Personalized guidance to help newcomers understand and integrate into the job market.
- Job Search Support and Networking Opportunities: Tools, strategies, and connections to enhance your job search.
- Short-term Pre-employment Training: Focused training to prepare for immediate job opportunities.
Referral Services: Connecting you to additional resources and services that meet your needs.
