The Life Skills Centre is a multi-faceted resource centre offering an array of services for individuals with developmental disabilities in the Surrey/ Delta area. Within the centre there is the large group based Discovery program that offers recreational activities which fosters social connections and esteem building through participation as well as the opportunity to perform in regular theatrical productions. Additionally, there is one to one direct support set in the community or a client’s home to work on life skill teaching and providing support to aid in self-advocacy and empowerment. Another program of note offered through the centre is the afternoon Skill Builders program that teaches a smaller group of clients and allows and rotates through a focused curriculum touching on employment skills, social skills, academics, cooking and nutrition, and health and fitness. The centre is also home to our Community Kitchen, the Surrey Self Advocates, a large evening Social Group and our Human Relations Course. Based on what kind of supports are being sought for each individual, the Life Skills Centre strives to deliver quality supports that are meaningful and client focused.

Clients participate in activities such as picture communication training, life skill teaching, painting and music, swimming, as well as walking and hiking in local park trails.
