Position:         Family Visitation Supervisor and Support Worker (FVSS)

Location:         Parksville, Vancouver Island, B.C.

Hours:             24.5 hrs per week – Temporary, Part Time
(15 weeks)

Salary:             Grid 12             $23.23 – $27.06

Job Summary

We are looking for a Family Visitation Supervisor and Support Worker to join our Sources Oceanside team! This position provides supervised family visits for children and parents referred by MCFD. The FVSS Worker is primarily responsible for organizing and facilitating visitation and ensuring visits are emotionally and physically safe for the child, supports improvement of parenting skills and abilities and enhancement of the parent and child relationship.

Sources Oceanside is a multi-service organization, serving communities in the Oceanside corridor.  With locations in Parksville and Qualicum Beach offering a well-established Child Development Centre as well as a wide range of Mental Health and Social Services.  Our vision is that all children, youth and families live in a healthy environment.

Qualifications / Education / Training:

• ·         Bachelor’s degree in social services (e.g. Social Work or Child and Youth Care).
• ·         Must possess valid B.C. Driver’s Licence, and reliable vehicle.
• ·         Clear Criminal Record Check and Driver’s Abstract.
