Position: Youth Care Worker, contract, part-time

Location: Prince George

Hours: 14 hrs/week

We are looking for a Youth Care Worker to join our Sources Independent Living Prince George  team! This individual must have strong interpersonal skills, work well in a collaborative team environment, and demonstrate excellent communication skills.

Description of position

Reporting to the Manager of Behavioural Services, the Youth Care Worker is a temporary employee of Sources Community Resources.

General Responsibilities:

•                     Support client goals as directed by the Behavioural Consultant

•                     Develop, teach, and demonstrate the strategies of positive behaviour support

•                     Case management and report writing

•                     Contribute to a strong team environment

•                     Some administration duties are required

Program Specific Responsibilities:

•                     Use teaching methods to target specific program goals and implement teaching programs and other interventions

•                     Collect data, monitor, record and review client progress with consultant and other team members

•                     Write monthly progress summaries

•                     Attend and participate in regularly scheduled team meetings

•                     Implement verbal and written feedback from the consultant and follow through with suggestions made

Qualifications:

•                     Bachelor’s degree in Applied Behaviour Analysis, Psychology, Social Work or related field, and one year experience working with children and youth. A combination of education and experience may be considered

•                     Effectively utilize Office suite including Excel, Word, Outlook and central data systems

•                     Excellent professional communication skills, verbally and written in English

•                     Non-violent Crisis Intervention Training (Training may be accessed through Sources)

•                     Criminal Records check through the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General Criminal Records Review Program

•                     Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License and driver’s abstract, with reliable vehicle
