Volunteer for Terry Fox Run in South Surrey/White Rock Sept. 17
The Rotary Club of White Rock is looking for volunteers to assist at the Terry Fox Run on Sunday, Sept. 17, 2017. The start/finish location is at the parking lot next to the Rotary Field House in the South Surrey Athletic Park (14600 Rotary Way).
This is the 37th annual Terry Fox Run. Over that span, the Terry Fox Foundation has raised over $700 million for cancer research from some 9,000 Terry Fox Runs across Canada and in 30-40 countries. Typically, our local South Surrey/White Rock Terry Fox Run raises $10,000-$15,000 annually from 200-250 participants!
This would be a great event to bring your family and friends and enjoy the start to a beautiful day while giving back to your community. The event goes ahead rain or shine.

The Terry Fox Foundation is notable for its low “expense ratio” of 18 per cent. That means that 82 cents of every dollar donated goes to the end cause. This outstanding achievement is possible due to the leanness of the organization, the dedication of thousands of volunteers, donations from multitudes of businesses and ongoing community support.
