Clinician – Part Time Temporary

Position: Clinician (DiscoverY Program)
Location: Parksville, Vancouver Island, B.C.
Hours: 5 hrs per week – Temporary, Part Time (to 31 March, 2021)
Salary: Grid 16-P $36.92 – $43.05
Job Summary
We are looking for a Clinician to join our Sources Oceanside team! DiscoverY is a program that offers free short-term counselling to youth and young adults who might otherwise not be eligible for funded services in the community. The goal for this program is to help young people (15-29 years old) build resilience and explore new ways of communicating, coping and relating with both themselves as well as with those around them. Service is typically 8-10 sessions and focuses on things like depression and anxiety, basic stress management techniques and coping strategies, developing healthy communication and boundaries in relationships, navigating the challenges and difficulties that arise with the transition into adulthood, self-esteem and assertiveness skills, gender identity and sexual orientation.

Sources Oceanside is a multi-service organization, serving communities in the Oceanside corridor. With locations in Parksville and Qualicum Beach offering a well-established Child Development Centre as well as a wide range of Mental Health and Social Services. Our vision is that all children, youth and families live in a healthy environment.
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology or a related field.
- Two (2) years recent related experience.
- Must have excellent communication skills and record keeping skills.
- Must have excellent computer skills.
- Must have a clear Criminal Record Check.
Start Date: As Soon as Possible
