Position: Assistant Behaviour Consultant – Casual
Location: Prince George
Hours: Casual with availability of at least 10 hours/week
We are looking for someone who is interested in working as an Assistant Behaviour Consultant to join our Sources B.A.S.I.C. program team! An Assistant Behaviour Consultant helps in conducting functional and skill assessments, developing and supervising the delivery of intervention plans, and providing direct one-to-one teaching to young children diagnosed with autism and other developmental disorders. They work as a part of an interdisciplinary team, under the direct mentorship and supervision of a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst.

About the B.A.S.I.C. Program
Sources B.A.S.I.C. program provides evidence-based behaviour intervention, analysis and consultation services based on the principles of applied behaviour analysis and positive behaviour support.
Services are primarily provided to individuals with autism but are open to anyone else requiring support with challenging behaviour or skill deficits. Services are provided primarily in the Prince George area. This program also provides the clinical supervision required by individuals seeking certification through the Behaviour Analyst Certification Board. All services are clinically supervised by board-certified behaviour analysts to ensure services are evidence-based and to maximize behaviour change and skill acquisition.
Responsibilities:
- · Assist in conducting intake assessments, ecology assessments, curriculum assessments, functional behavioural assessments, and other assessments as required.
- · Assist in developing, teaching, and demonstrating the strategies of intervention plans and positive behaviour support plans.
- · Collect pre- and post-test data to measure program effectiveness.
- · Report writing.
- · Contribute to a strong team environment.
- · Some administration duties are required.
Qualifications:
- · Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Educational Psychology, Behavioural Sciences, or another related field.
- · Minimum 1 year’s experience implementing behaviour intervention plans, supporting people with behaviour challenges, or other related experience.
- · Experience working with children with autism and experience/ability managing and responding to aggressive behaviour is preferred.
- · Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- · Available for work at least 10 hours/week, possibly weekends and evenings.
- · Criminal record check required.
- · Familiar and comfortable working with Microsoft Office products.
- · Must possess a valid BC Driver’s License and a reliable vehicle.
