Position:         Family Visitation Supervisor and Support Worker (FVSS)

Location:         Parksville, Vancouver Island, B.C.

Hours:             23.5 hrs per week – Temporary, Part Time
(to February 9, 2023)

Salary:             Grid 12             $24.48 – $28.52

Job Summary

We are looking for a Family Visitation Supervisor and Support Worker to join our Sources Oceanside team!

The FVSS Program provides both supervised family visits for children and their parents referred by MCFD as well as family support for families referred by MCFD and community referral for support with parenting. With supervised visitation, the FVSS Worker is primarily responsible for organizing and facilitating the visitation sessions and ensuring visits are meaningful as well as emotionally and physically safe for children. The goals for Supervised Visitation will be to work towards reunification of children and parents, when possible. For Family Support, the FVSS Worker also provides support to parents to improve parenting skills and enhance the parent and child relationship.

Qualifications / Education / Training:

  • ·         Bachelor’s degree in social services (e.g., Social Work or Child and Youth Care).
  • ·         Must possess valid B.C. Driver’s Licence, and reliable vehicle.
  • ·         Clear Criminal Record Check and Driver’s Abstract.
