Position: Behaviour Support Worker
Location: Duncan
Hours: Casual-a minimum of 2 shifts a week with possibility of working 5 shifts a week
We are looking for someone who is interested in working as a Behaviour Support Worker to join our Sources Behavioural Counselling Services (BCS) team! A Behaviour Support Worker provides direct one-to-one support to neurodivergent children and youth. They work as a part of an interdisciplinary team, under the direct mentorship and supervision of a Board-Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA).

Description of position
As a behaviour support worker, you will work directly with children providing a safe, fun, compassionate and educational environment in a variety of locations. You will be supported and overseen by the lead Behaviour Consultant and Clinical Supervisor.
General Responsibilities:
- Provide a safe, supportive, and FUN environment for learning in the clients home and the community.
- Case management and report writing.
- Contribute to a strong team environment.
- Attend and participate in regularly scheduled team meetings.
- Some administration duties are required.
Program Specific Responsibilities:
- Use teaching methods to target specific program goals as directed by a Behavioural Consultant/Analyst and implementing teaching programs and other interventions as outlined on the student’s behavioural plan of intervention.
- Collect data, monitoring, recording, and reviewing client progress with consultant and other team members.
- Develop, teach, and demonstrate the strategies of positive behaviour support.
- Write accurate session notes and maintaining files.
- Support various clients with skills related to self-advocacy and self-regulation in a fun and meaningful way.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma, two years post-secondary education in a related field preferred (psychology, education, social work, etc.)
- Experience working with children with autism and experience/ability managing and responding to aggressive behaviour is preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Available for work at least 20 hours/week, possibly weekends and evenings.
- Valid BC driver’s license
- Criminal record check required.
- Reliable vehicle.
- Ideal candidate is available, primarily, during the afterschool hours.
Start Date: Dependent on finding a qualified candidate/s
