Position: Behavioural Support Services Manager & Clinical Supervisor

Location: Office located in Surrey, serving Fraser and Coastal regions

Hours: 27 hrs/week

Position Description

Located in Surrey, the Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Manager supervises the MCFD funded PBS team, our fee for service Behavioral Consultation & Support Services (BCSS) program and our FASD Key Worker. The manager acts as a clinical resource for the PBS staff they supervise, families, caregivers, community agencies and all those involved with the child and family. They review strategies and makes any changes necessary, monitor progress and assist in modifying strategies when appropriate.  The manager MUST have an extensive knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles, as well as knowledge within the PBS approach.  The manager organizes or provides training and clinically supervises the Behaviour Consultants who implement the plan with the family.  This position is also responsible for leading, supporting and supervising staff, and representing our program with our funders and in the community.  The manager will ensure clinical standards and practices are maintained. 

Also, the manager will oversee and direct our Behaviour Consultation & Support Services program; a fee for service positive behaviour support program with a modest team of BI’s, Consultants, and Behaviour Analysts.  This will require 1 weekly hour to ensure all matters are responded to in a timely manner.

Travel may be required for this position.

Sources Positive Support Services

We provide in-home Behaviour Consultation services to families in several communities throughout the Lower Mainland using a Family Centered Positive Behaviour Support model.  Families are referred to our service through MCFD and work with our consultants for approximately 1 year. During that time, the consultant and the family work together to create and implement individualized strategies to address behavioral challenges and teach new skills.

General Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining strong staff culture and training and support.
  • Developing and maintaining funder and community relationships as appropriate.
  • Maintain professional certification.
  • Trauma informed orientation to service and maintaining best service practices.
  • Ensures compliance with provincial legislation including Worksafe, privacy legislation, and Child,
  • Family and Community Service Act.
     

Program Specific Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring that program complies with best practices and aligns with Behavior Analyst Certification Board’s standards.
  • Responsible for overseeing the Behaviour Consultants implementation of programs specific to the needs of the individual child and family. 
  • Clinically oversees consultant assessment, design, and implementation of plans.
  • Liaises with clients, families, Ministry personnel, other managers, and other stakeholders in a positive, professional, and ethical way.

Qualifications:

  • MA in related field (Special Education, Psychology)
  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) preferred, or actively in process of completion
  • 3 years manager/coordinator experience
  • 5 years working directly with families as a consultant and/or behaviour analyst
  • Proven communication skills with funders, partners, clients
  • Own vehicle, and valid BC driver’s license
  • Successful criminal record check
