Position: FASD Keyworker – Permanent Full-Time

Location: Fort St John and Fort Nelson
Hours: 35 hours per week
We are looking for a FASD Keyworker to join our Sources North team! This individual must be extremely knowledgeable on resources around FASD with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to share.

Description of position
Reporting to the Manager of Behavioural Services, the FASD Keyworker is a permanent full-time employee of Sources Community Resources.
The Keyworker provides individual and community-based services in Fort St John and Fort Nelson. Their portfolio includes coordination of services to family, case conferencing, education, planning, supportive advice, linkage to other community supports, and facilitation of parent-to-parent support mechanisms. The Keyworker must possess strong knowledge of FASD and other complex behavioral conditions, excellent communication and advocacy skills, ability to work with ministry structures and staff in MCFD, Health, and Child and Youth Mental Health, as well as families and other community agencies. Able to develop and support a parent-to-parent support group and other community engagement events.

General Responsibilities:
• Maintains client records.
• Participates in program evaluation.
• Contributes to a strong and supportive team environment.
• Schedules and attends meetings.
• Maintain a caseload and provide direct services to families referred to the program.
• Ensures that all Society policies and procedures are followed.

Program Specific Responsibilities:
• Empowers parents by providing them with support, resources, and information.
• Helps families learn about relevant local, regional, and national services, resources, voluntary organization, and information agencies that are available.
• Assists families with applications for relevant local, regional, or national services, resources, equipment, and financial support that is available.
• Liaises with a regional health multidisciplinary assessment team.
• Assists families with advocating for their child.
• Develops and facilitates parent-to-parent support mechanisms and community engagement events.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree with specialized training and experience working with FASD clients and at least 3 years experience working with children, youth, and families.
• Effectively utilize Office suite including Excel, Word, Outlook, and central data systems.
• Effectively communicate professionally, verbally and written in English.
• Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training (training may be accessed through Sources).
• Criminal Records check through the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General Criminal Records Review Program.
• Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License and driver’s abstract.

Start Date: As soon as possible

Salary: $27.00 per hour
