National Volunteer Week

Let us applaud for SOURCES’ volunteers! National Volunteer Week is here.

From coast-to-coast, Canadians are celebrating the commitment and generosity of its own: our almost 13 million volunteers.

Here at home, SOURCES is indebted to the scores of volunteers who keep our communities safe, healthy and connected. During this public health crisis, volunteers have stepped up to keep SOURCES’ essential services operating and, when necessary, have stayed home for the sake of their health and others. Volunteers keep their neighbours’ cupboards stocked with food through our Food Banks and Grocery Shopping programs. Volunteers keep health care accessible by driving seniors to urgent medical appointments and providing free dental work. Volunteers keep government benefits flowing by providing free income tax and filing. Volunteers open the doors of a safe haven for women to come together. Volunteers fundraise to keep much-needed programs sustainable. Volunteers connect people asking for help and break down barriers.

Volunteers ask not “What do you want me to do?” but ask “What MORE can I do?

This week, April 19th – 25th, and every day thereafter, we encourage you to cheer loudly and proudly for all volunteers, here at SOURCES and across Canada.

To our fellow volunteers, you continue to support SOURCES in ways that have long-lasting rippling effects. You believe in us and, more importantly, in the strength of empowerment and cooperation.

From us to you: Thank you.
