The SOURCES Dolly Parton’ s Imagination Library currently serves close to 500 children in Surrey and White Rock – and we need your help! We need to increase our capacity by raising more money, so that we can enroll the nearly 150 children on our growing waitlist through the program.

Let us applaud for SOURCES’ volunteers! National Volunteer Week is here. From coast-to-coast, Canadians are celebrating the commitment and generosity of its own: our almost 13 million volunteers.

The Sources Volunteer Dental Clinic celebrates its 10th Anniversary this October! Located in the Peace Arch Hospital in White Rock, the one-chair unit in ‘the little clinic that could’ has helped approximately 3, 000 people regain their smile and dental health.

Imagine a young child reaching up to open the mailbox – their eyes widening with excitement upon seeing a package shaped like a book – then carefully reading their name on the label – it is addressed to that child! The child opens the packaging, runs to their caregiver, crawls onto their lap and opens their new and exotic book. Imagine them snuggled together, reading the story. This is a magical moment for many children – a magical moment with help from Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.

“We make a living by what we get. We make a life by what we give, ” Winston Churchill once said. The latter part accurately describes the dedication and care that SOURCES Volunteers put into their service. To honour the contributions of our volunteers, SOURCES held its annual Volunteer Appreciation Barbeque at Campbell Valley Regional Park on August 17, 2017. With roughly 100 Volunteers and Volunteer Supporters in attendance, the event celebrated charity, selflessness and service.
